WIGGINS TEAPE (Papermakers). CAXTON ANNIVERSARY WATERMARK. Basingstoke: Wiggins Teape, 1976. A card envelope chemise containing
48 sheets (199x197mm) of specially watermarks Conqueror Vellum writing paper, together with 24 matching envelopes. The front

carries a special watermark, designed by Anthony Knowles of Plymouth College of Art, to celebrate the quincentenary of William
Caxton's introduction of printing into England. The inner cover of the front cover carries a historic note and details
of the anniversary watermark and concludes that 'other sizes of the paper can be supplied at a negotiable price, subject
to minimum order requirements.' This, together with the 'imprint' being from the firm's mill sales division
rather suggests that this particular form of distributing the sheets was issued as an advertisement sample rather than offered
for commercial sale thus. £50.00
